Flat light and a covered sky today, with just enough W wind to ripple the surface with a settled glass. Fish at Resound Lake should hold close to sheltered bays and points. Little to get excited about, though the morning holds a sliver of promise. Fish the best hour hard and keep the rest short.

Set in Sudbury, Resound Lake is an Ontario water. It lies 399 metres above sea level. It measures some 1.45 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. You are looking at roughly 14 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. On our Sudbury list it sits near the top for size. For supplies, Timmins is 91 km out. Chapleau lies 104 km off, Dowling another 143 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Open biodiversity records for Sudbury list smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Resound Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
Climate records put July near 17°C and January near -17°C. Open water arrives late and leaves early, which concentrates the fishing. Count the season from break-up, usually early May. In an average year the thaw lands around early May and the freeze near mid November. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. On Resound Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
We hold no note on access for this one. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Pinnacle Lake sits 2.2 km off and takes the overflow. Signs at Resound Lake carry more weight than any list.
