A half-covered sky tonight, with a helpful ripple pushed from the WNW and pressure sitting still. Expect most activity at Reclus Lake around the weed line and any gaps in it. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

In Ontario, Reclus Lake belongs to Algoma. Elevation runs to 395 metres. At about 32 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 2.9 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Sault Ste. Marie lies 47 km from the water. The nearest city of size is Greater Sudbury, 244 km away. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Algoma records list walleye, northern pike, Iowa darter, yellow perch and white sucker among the fish reported. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. On Reclus Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
On the long-term average, July reads 17°C and January reads -13°C. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. Averages suggest open water from about late April through to roughly late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. It holds true on Reclus Lake more years than not.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Failing this one, try Pike Lake, 1.6 km away. None of that is settled for Reclus Lake in what we hold.
