A still, cloudless night on the water, with calm air over the water with the barometer flat. The fish at Mosquito Lake are likely to sit near sheltered bays and points. Plan around the stretch from the day. Change depth before you change anything else. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Mosquito Lake is listed under Sudbury, Ontario. It stands 442 metres above sea level. The water covers some 48 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. A shoreline of some 4.7 km keeps the choices simple. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Ontario listings. For supplies, Chapleau is 18 km out. Wawa is 96 km away, with Sault Ste. Marie at 145 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Fish documented in Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Mosquito Lake gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
The seasonal spread runs -15°C to 16°C. Open water is the exception rather than the rule here. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about mid November in an average year. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Mosquito Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
No access rule appears in what we hold. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Montreal Lake at 1.3 km is the sensible second choice. For Mosquito Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
