A clean, cloudless night over the water, with light air out of the WNW and pressure sitting still. Most of the action on MacDonald Lake should come off the first drop-off and weed lines. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.
