Uneven cloud over the water after dark, with a firm WNW blow with the glass holding level. The water to cover at Lime Lake is points where shallow meets deep. A tough forecast; the evening offers the only real chance. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lime Lake in Thunder Bay District, Ontario. The ground round it is boreal forest. It measures about 31 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. About 2.4 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Ontario listings. The nearest place of any size is Lappe, 75 km away. Further out sit Nipigon (75 km) and Shuniah Township (80 km). The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Thunder Bay District, recorded fish include cisco, blackfin cisco and rainbow smelt. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. The near bank of Lime Lake is often the one people ignore.
Climate normals give 17°C for July and -20°C for January. This is a two-season water: locked, then wide open. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early May. The lid tends to go about early May and return around mid November. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. The season on Lime Lake follows the weather closely.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Keep the gear simple: light line, small hooks, split shot and a couple of proven lures. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Amik Lake, 3 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm access to Lime Lake locally before you travel.
