Flat light and a covered sky today, with a consistent blow out of the SSW and steady pressure. Expect most activity at Green Lake around windblown banks where food collects. A grinding day likely, with the morning worth the effort if any is. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Green Lake in the Frontenac County part of Ontario. Beyond the shoreline you have lake country bush. It measures about 20 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. Roughly 2.9 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. Head to Sharbot Lake, 16 km away, for anything you forgot. Further out sit Perth (32 km) and Sharpton/Glenvale (41 km). The county edge is within a short distance of the bank.
Our records hold no depth for this water. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. County-wide records name pumpkinseed, bluegill, rock bass and smallmouth bass. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Work Green Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Expect July to average close to 20°C, with January the cold end at about -10°C. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough mid April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid April and starts locking again about early December. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. It holds true on Green Lake more years than not.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lynn Lake sits 2.3 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Green Lake in what we hold.
