A grey, even sky over the water, with a stiffish breeze from the WSW with a settled glass. Expect most activity at George's Lake around windblown banks where food collects. Numbers are low everywhere; the middle of the day is the pick of them. Take the small wins and call it early if it dies.

Ontario holds George's Lake, in Parry Sound District. The setting is pine and birch. With some 32 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 4.5 km, and most of it is walkable. It lies lower than most water we list in Ontario. South River lies 43 km from the water. Then Powassan, 43 km, and Sturgeon Falls, 45 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Parry Sound District, recorded fish include smallmouth bass, pumpkinseed, yellow perch, northern pike and rock bass. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Fish George's Lake to its features, not to its size.
Long-run averages give July about 19°C and January about -11°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around mid April. Open water usually runs from mid April until about early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Time your trip to George's Lake by conditions rather than dates.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Mountain Lake at 2.6 km is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for George's Lake in what we hold.
