Froggy Lake in Nipissing District: How and When to Fish It

• Overview

  Look for Froggy Lake in the Nipissing District part of Ontario. The ground round it is rolling bush. The water measures roughly 9 hectares, so nothing here is far from anything else. The bank runs about 1.5 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. It is low-lying compared with other Ontario water we list. Callander is the closest town at 20 km. North Bay lies 27 km off, Mattawa another 33 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.

• Where to Fish on Froggy Lake

  Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it.
