Dull, settled light over the water, with a proper ripple driven from the W and no real change in pressure. Start the search at Fox Lake along points where shallow meets deep. If you pick one session, make it the evening. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

You will find Fox Lake in Sudbury, Ontario. It sits at 219 metres above sea level. It measures about 49 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. With about 4.0 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. It lies lower than most water we list in Ontario. Start from Espanola, 11 km down the road. Little Current is 25 km and Lively 54 km. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. Survey and observation records for Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Fox Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Between January at about -11°C and July at about 19°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near late April. Ice clears near late April and comes back about early December in a typical year. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. At Fox Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public data shows nothing built here, so treat the whole approach as informal. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is East Fox Lake, 1.1 km out. For Fox Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
