Fireline Lake lies within the bounds of Sudbury, Ontario. Beyond the shoreline you have spruce and muskeg. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. On size it sits at the modest end of our Sudbury list. Chapleau is the closest place, 58 km off. The nearest city of size is Greater Sudbury, 284 km away. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Fish documented in Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Work Fireline Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -17°C. This far north the hard season runs and runs. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early May. Averages place the thaw at early May and the freeze at mid November. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. It holds true on Fireline Lake more years than not.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Admiral Lake, 3.1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. The position on Fireline Lake is worth confirming on the day.
