No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with a kind W breeze on the water with a settled glass. On Endikai Lake, work the shallows early and the drop later first. The strongest window runs from afternoon into evening. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Endikai Lake is an Algoma water, in Ontario. It sits in pine and birch. It measures some 6.20 sq km, and wind has room to build across it. The shoreline runs about 18 km, so it pays to pick a stretch and stay with it. On our Algoma list it sits near the top for size. Nearest place of any size is Elliot Lake, 38 km away. Blind River is 46 km away, with Thessalon at 56 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Across Algoma, recorded fish include walleye, northern pike and Iowa darter. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Take Endikai Lake a stretch at a time.
Averages here run 18°C at the top of summer and -12°C at the bottom of winter. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough late April. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near late November. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. On Endikai Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Speckle Lake is 3.7 km off. Check the position at Endikai Lake before loading the car.
