Bands of rain crossing through the day, with a gentle ripple from the W and the barometer holding steady. Start the search at Eade Lake along any hard bottom among the soft. A hard day on paper; the morning edges the rest. Go lighter and slower than usual. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Eade Lake lies in Sudbury, Ontario. The surface lies 393 metres up. This is a pocket water of some 10 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Sudbury list holds plenty of bigger water. Chapleau sits 88 km from the bank. It is 157 km to Greater Sudbury, the nearest city. Within a short drive: Boundary Lake within 5.8 km, Opeepeesway Lake at 5.9 km, Mick Lake within 6.3 km, Elmes Lake at 6.4 km and Cordes Lake within 6.8 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Species logged across Sudbury include smallmouth bass, northern pike and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Eade Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
July runs about 17°C on average, January about -16°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Count the season from break-up, usually late April. On average, late April opens the water and mid November closes it again. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Expect Eade Lake to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Should this one be busy, Boundary Lake is 5.8 km off. Confirm access to Eade Lake locally before you travel.
