Soft grey light all day today, with light air out of the WSW and steady pressure. Fish at Miletree Lake should hold close to bays that hold the day's warmth. Bank on the middle of the day and treat the rest as bonus. Give the likely spots time before moving. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Miletree Lake is an Annapolis County water, Nova Scotia side. Country round the bank runs to pine and birch. With some 49 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The edge runs 3.5 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Compared with other Nova Scotia water on our list, it sits high. The closest town, Middleton, is 30 km away. Then Greenwood, 32 km, and Kingston, 34 km. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. County-wide records name alewife, Atlantic salmon, chain pickerel, yellow perch and blueback herring. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Work Miletree Lake in sections rather than trying to cover it.
Long-term averages put July at about 18°C and January near -6°C. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. The lid usually goes in mid April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The open-water window runs from around mid April to about mid December in an average year. Fishing peaks soon after break-up and again before the cold returns. Plan around that when you fish Miletree Lake.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing formal is recorded here: no ramp, no car park, no marked path. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. The nearest alternative is Stoddart Lake, 2.3 km out. Ask locally about Miletree Lake if anything is unclear.
