Heavy overcast holding through the day, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SE and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Lisle Lake is sheltered bays and points. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Lisle Lake is one of the Halifax Regional Municipality waters in Nova Scotia. The water sits 95 metres up. It covers about 5 hectares, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. For a base, Springfield Lake sits 1.9 km out. Beyond it, Upper Sackville at 2.9 km and Beaver Bank at 3.4 km. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Open biodiversity records for Halifax Regional Municipality list brook trout, alewife, rainbow smelt, American eel and Atlantic salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Lisle Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
Climate records put August near 18°C and January near -6°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Winter fishing happens on the ice here, with open water back around mid April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around mid April and starts locking again about mid December. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. On Lisle Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. The slipway at Springfield Lake Park Boat Launch is 1 km away. Recorded parking is 980 m off, far enough to travel light. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. The nearest alternative is Fenerty Lake, 1.1 km out. Check the current arrangement for Lisle Lake.
