A grey, even sky over the water, with light air out of the SE with a settled glass. Most of the action on Juniper Lake should come off reed fringes and open pockets. The forecast backs the stretch from afternoon into evening. Ride the conditions while they last. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, is where Juniper Lake sits. The surface lies 180 metres up. About 4 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Lunenburg County. Head to Chester, 28 km away, for anything you forgot. Then Mahone Bay, 29 km, and Bridgewater, 34 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Species logged across Lunenburg County include American eel, Atlantic whitefish, smallmouth bass and striped bass. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Juniper Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Expect July near 18°C and January near -6°C on the long-run figures. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Once it clears, about mid April, the fishing comes on quickly. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about mid April until roughly mid December. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Juniper Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Access is unmapped, which usually means a farm track and a walk. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Should this one be busy, Otter Lake is 1.4 km off. None of that is settled for Juniper Lake in what we hold.
