Overcast skies today, with a soft ESE wind with the barometer flat. Start the search at Curry Lake along points where shallow meets deep. Save your energy for the evening. Work the productive water thoroughly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Night
Set in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, this is Curry Lake. Elevation runs to 110 metres. At 4 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Head to Musquodoboit Harbour, 42 km away, for anything you forgot. The big place round here is Dartmouth, 77 km distant. The nearest edge is a long way off, so local rules apply throughout.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Survey and observation records for Halifax Regional Municipality include brook trout, alewife, rainbow smelt, American eel and Atlantic salmon. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Curry Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Long-run averages give August about 18°C and January about -6°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Winter locks it down, and mid April brings it back. The open-water window runs from around mid April to about mid December in an average year. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. On Curry Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Blackie Lake sits 0.7 km off and takes the overflow. The position on Curry Lake is worth confirming on the day.
