No direct sun expected today, with a light NW breeze and pressure going nowhere. The water to cover at Navigation Lake is the first drop-off and weed lines. A slow day overall; the night is the best of a quiet lot. Scale down and fish slowly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Navigation Lake is a Charlotte County water, in New Brunswick. It sits at 124 metres above sea level. With some 14 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. About 2.6 km of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Saint Andrews lies 17 km from the water. After that come Calais at 18 km and St. Stephen at 19 km. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Our records carry no depth, so judge it from the bank. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name Atlantic salmon, alewife and rainbow smelt. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Navigation Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
On the long-term average, July reads 19°C and January reads -8°C. Hard water is a season in its own right here. After mid April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Ice usually gives way near mid April, and forms again about early December. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Navigation Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Chris Wren Lake, 1.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Nothing on Navigation Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
