Poor visibility with fog on the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SW and pressure going nowhere. Give structure within a cast of the bank the first hour at Douglas Lake. Not a day the forecast likes; the evening keeps a flicker of interest. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

Douglas Lake is one of the Queens County waters in New Brunswick. It stands 23 metres above sea level. Roughly 12 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The bank runs about 1.8 km all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. It is low-lying compared with other New Brunswick water we list. Grand Bay-Westfield lies 15 km from the water. For a city, Dartmouth is 236 km off. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Queens County records list yellow perch, alewife, pumpkinseed, chain pickerel and rainbow smelt among the fish reported. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Read Douglas Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
Between January at about -9°C and July at about 18°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Cold winters and warm summers give a wide working range. Break-up comes around mid April, and the run that follows is short and strong. From about mid April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. Late spring and early autumn carry the year between them. Plan any trip to Douglas Lake around it.
Public data does not answer the access question here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Tully Lake at 2.6 km is the sensible second choice. Ask locally about Douglas Lake if anything is unclear.
