Heavy overcast holding through the day, with mild air moving in from the NNE and pressure sitting still. Whatever swims in Zellers Lake should be near the seam between weed and open water. A slow day overall; the evening is the best of a quiet lot. Lower the pace and stay patient. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District entry here is Zellers Lake, in British Columbia. The ground round it is lake country bush. For supplies, Clearwater is 54 km out. Further out sit 108 Mile Ranch (91 km) and 100 Mile House (92 km). More in the same country: Jack Norman Lake a touch under 1.7 km, 4.6 km out stands Lone Spoon Lake, Alice Lake a touch under 6.5 km, 7.2 km out stands Cranberry Lake and Majerus Lake a touch under 11 km. Rules here are straightforward: one set of provincial rules.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Open biodiversity records for Thompson-Nicola Regional District list Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon and rainbow trout. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Take Zellers Lake a stretch at a time.
Expect July near 15°C and January near -8°C on the long-run figures. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. The open season starts with the thaw, near enough early April. On average, early April opens the water and late November closes it again. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Zellers Lake.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. Parking is not close: 950 m from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. The nearest alternative is Jack Norman Lake, 1.7 km out. Rules at Zellers Lake are worth checking on the day.
