No direct sun expected today, with light air out of the SE and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Todd Lake should hold close to sheltered bays and points. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Thompson-Nicola Regional District in British Columbia is where Todd Lake sits. It stands 1,301 metres above sea level. With some 16 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 2.3 km, and most of it is walkable. Dallas sits 27 km from the bank. Juniper Ridge follows at 30 km, then Sahali at 32 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Fish documented in Thompson-Nicola Regional District include Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon and Coho salmon. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Treat Todd Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
The seasonal spread runs -8°C to 14°C. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. The lid usually goes in late April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. In an average year the thaw lands around late April and the freeze near mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. At Todd Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Mapping shows a campsite some 1 km from the water. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Pond Lake is 1.1 km off. None of that is settled for Todd Lake in what we hold.
