Solid cloud cover today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW with a settled glass. Fish at Tisigar Lake should hold close to the margins and the shelf beyond them. A grinding day likely, with the night worth the effort if any is. Save the long walk for a better forecast. Cold hands, careful casts: precision is everything today.

Tisigar Lake lies in Stikine Region, in British Columbia. The surface lies 1,000 metres up. The water covers some 45 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. You are looking at roughly 6.3 km of shoreline, with plenty of water between access points. Watson Lake at 67 km is the nearest place to stop. It is 1131 km to Anchorage, the nearest city. This one is safely inside the county line.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Survey and observation records for Stikine Region include Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, mountain whitefish and Arctic grayling. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Tisigar Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Averages move between -17°C in January and 12°C in July. The window is narrow, and fish feed hard while it lasts. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from mid May. Break-up sits around mid May on average, with the water closing again about late October. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. It sets the rhythm of the year at Tisigar Lake.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Should this one be busy, Edward Johnny Lake is 7.9 km off. Check the position on Tisigar Lake before loading the car.
