A closed sky with even light today, with a faint NNE drift with the glass holding level. Start the search at Silt Lake along points where shallow meets deep. The numbers single out the middle of the day. Settle in and let the day develop. The cold will pin fish to deeper, stable water.

British Columbia holds Silt Lake, in Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. Height above sea level is 795 metres. At about 65 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 4.6 km of margin, front to back. It is among the larger waters listed here for Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. Some 78 km away sits Pemberton, the nearest settlement. Beyond it, Mount Currie at 83 km and Whistler at 86 km. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Nothing in our records gives a depth for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Squamish-Lillooet Regional District records list Coho salmon, sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, Chinook salmon and Chum salmon among the fish reported. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Silt Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Average temperature peaks around 9°C in August and bottoms out near -9°C in December. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Count on hard cover from midwinter, and open water from mid May. The open-water window runs from around mid May to about early November in an average year. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Silt Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. The nearest alternative is Fish Lake, 25 km out. Confirm access to Silt Lake locally before you travel.
