Flat light and a covered sky today, with a light SSW breeze and steady pressure. The fish at Pyramid Lake are likely to sit near windblown banks where food collects. The productive run goes the day. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. The cold puts a premium on the calmest, deepest water.

Pyramid Lake lies within the bounds of Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, British Columbia. The water sits 2,063 metres up. At roughly 5 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. By elevation it is in the upper part of our British Columbia listings. The nearest town is Keremeos, 30 km away. After that come Cawston at 34 km and Oliver at 48 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Reported across Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen: sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, Coho salmon and common carp. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Treat Pyramid Lake as a water to read rather than to cover.
Long-run averages give August about 10°C and December about -9°C. The year runs cold to warm and back, with clear transitions. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late May. Break-up sits around late May on average, with the water closing again about early November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Pyramid Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
Our records carry no access rule either way. There is camping recorded roughly 140 m off. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Lake of the Woods at 0.7 km is the sensible second choice.
