A closed sky with even light today, with an easy breeze from the SSW with a settled glass. On Palisade Lake, work the weed line and any gaps in it first. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Look for Palisade Lake in the Metro Vancouver Regional District part of British Columbia. The surface lies 891 metres up. At about 56 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Around 3.0 km of margin, front to back. It ranks high for size among our Metro Vancouver Regional District listings. The town to know is Grousewoods, 11 km out. It is 21 km to Burnaby, the nearest city. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Metro Vancouver Regional District include white sturgeon, Coho salmon and sockeye salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Palisade Lake rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Averages here run 14°C at the top of summer and -2°C at the bottom of winter. Conditions shift steadily rather than sharply. In a normal year the cover is thin and short-lived. The cooler months are the comfortable ones to fish here. Expect Palisade Lake to follow that timing. Long daylight spreads the feeding across more hours.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no mapped parking or launch close by, which usually means walking in. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Rodgers Lake at 1.4 km is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Palisade Lake in what we hold.
