Soft grey light all day today, with barely a breath of wind and pressure going nowhere. Most of the action on Nita Lake should come off shallow cover and weed edges. If you must go, go in the night. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District entry here is Nita Lake, in British Columbia. The setting is mixed forest on every side. At about 10 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The whole outline is near 1.6 km, and most of it is walkable. Whistler at 3.6 km is the nearest place to stop. Beyond it, Pemberton at 28 km and Mount Currie at 31 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Squamish-Lillooet Regional District include Coho salmon, sockeye salmon, rainbow trout and Chinook salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. The shape of Nita Lake decides where the fish sit.
Between January at about -4°C and August at about 15°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter shuts the surface down for months. Winter locks it down, and early April brings it back. Climate figures give an open season running early April to late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. On Nita Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. A car park lies 440 m away, so the walk in is short. A platform or pier sits within 280 m. There are toilets mapped about 580 m away. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Alpha Lake, 1 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Nita Lake.
