Nahshutti Lake is a Regional District of Mount Waddington water, in British Columbia. The coast is 12 km away. Small at around 7 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Regional District of Mount Waddington. Start from Port Hardy, 27 km down the road. It is 378 km to Vancouver, the nearest city. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Fish documented in Regional District of Mount Waddington include Coho salmon, rainbow trout, Chinook salmon and sockeye salmon. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. The shape of Nahshutti Lake rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Climate normals give 14°C for August and 2°C for December. A lid forms in a hard winter only. Hard water here is never dependable, so check for yourself before stepping out. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. Plan around that when you fish Nahshutti Lake.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Should this one be busy, Godkin Lake is 1.5 km off. For Nahshutti Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
