Flat light and a covered sky today, with dead-still conditions and no real change in pressure. The water to cover at Moon Lake is the margins and the shelf beyond them. A stay-home graph, with the evening as the one excuse to go. Scale down and fish slowly. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

In British Columbia, Moon Lake belongs to Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. The bank is 1,851 metres above sea level. At roughly 4 hectares, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Most waters listed here for Squamish-Lillooet Regional District are larger. Nearest town is Lillooet, 11 km off. Cache Creek follows at 52 km, then Ashcroft at 55 km. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. County-wide records name Coho salmon, sockeye salmon and rainbow trout. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Read Moon Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
August is the warm end of the year here, averaging about 14°C, while January sits near -6°C. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Look for the thaw near late April; the fishing lifts straight after. Ice usually gives way near late April, and forms again about late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Expect Moon Lake to follow that timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. For a change of water, Seton Lake is 7.7 km distant. Check the position at Moon Lake before loading the car.
