Open sky and sharp air tonight, with hardly a ripple anywhere and pressure going nowhere. The productive water at Meadow Lake will be around the first drop-off and weed lines. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. The cold will pin fish to deeper, stable water.

In British Columbia, Meadow Lake belongs to Thompson-Nicola Regional District. The surface lies 2,015 metres up. This is a pocket water of some 3 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Our Thompson-Nicola Regional District list holds plenty of bigger water. The nearest place of any size is Lillooet, 38 km away. For a city, Kamloops is 118 km off. This one is safely inside the county line.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Open biodiversity records for Thompson-Nicola Regional District list Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, rainbow trout and pink salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Meadow Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Expect August near 11°C and December near -8°C on the long-run figures. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Ice is part of the season here, ending near mid May. The water is typically free of ice between mid May and early November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Anyone fishing Meadow Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. The nearest alternative is Kent Lake, 7.4 km out. What applies at Meadow Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
