No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with the surface near flat and pressure going nowhere. Expect most activity at Limestone Lake around the shaded margin through bright spells. A broad window opens from night into morning. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Limestone Lake lies in Strathcona Regional District, British Columbia. It stands 1,492 metres above sea level. Small at around 3 hectares: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Our Strathcona Regional District list holds plenty of bigger water. Gold River lies 34 km from the water. Oyster River lies 40 km off, Puntledge another 42 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Strathcona Regional District records list sockeye salmon, Chum salmon and pink salmon among the fish reported. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. On Limestone Lake that means starting tight and working out.
On the long-term average, August reads 12°C and December reads -2°C. A lid forms in a hard winter only. In milder years the edges alone go, and the middle never sets. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. Anyone fishing Limestone Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. There is a toilet block some 190 m out. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Marsh Marigold Lake sits 0.5 km off and takes the overflow. Rules at Limestone Lake are worth checking on the day.
