A closed sky with even light today, with an easy breeze from the S and pressure going nowhere. Activity on Lea Lake should centre on the first drop-off and weed lines. Not a day the forecast likes; the night keeps a flicker of interest. Lower the pace and stay patient. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

The Cariboo Regional District entry here is Lea Lake, in British Columbia. Beyond the shoreline you have mixed forest. At about 11 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 2.1 km, small enough to learn in a day. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Cariboo Regional District. The closest town, Williams Lake, is 60 km away. After that come 108 Mile Ranch at 75 km and 100 Mile House at 86 km. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Open biodiversity records for Cariboo Regional District list sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon, bull trout and Coho salmon. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. At Lea Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate records put July near 16°C and January near -6°C. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early April. Climate averages put the opening at about early April and the closing near late November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. The season on Lea Lake follows the weather closely.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Public mapping records no formal access here, so plan for a walk and soft ground. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. If the gate is shut, Jim Lowry Lake at 1.3 km is the nearest alternative. The position on Lea Lake is worth confirming on the day.
