No direct sun expected today, with an easy breeze from the SSE and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Lake George along inflow corners and shaded margins. The forecast backs the stretch from the day. Ride the conditions while they last. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Lake George is set in Cariboo Regional District, British Columbia. It stands 680 metres above sea level. It runs to roughly 73 hectares — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. With 6.0 km or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. For supplies, Williams Lake is 40 km out. Further out sit 108 Mile Ranch (79 km) and Quesnel (79 km). It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
We hold no depth figure for this one. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Survey and observation records for Cariboo Regional District include sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon, bull trout and Coho salmon. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. At Lake George light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Between January at about -7°C and July at about 15°C, the water has a wide range to work through. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from early April. Averages suggest open water from about early April through to roughly late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Anyone fishing Lake George regularly works to that calendar.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping is blank for access, so scout the approach before committing the car. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Should this one be busy, Choate Lake is 4.1 km off. Ask locally about Lake George if anything is unclear.
