No direct sun expected today, with a faint SE drift and pressure going nowhere. Start the search at Ketchum Lake along inflow corners and shaded margins. A long productive spell runs the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cold air keeps the water sluggish; scale everything down.

This water sits in Stikine Region, British Columbia. It sits at 1,088 metres above sea level. With some 82 hectares of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. At about 5.6 km of edge, most people work one arm at a time. Juneau is the closest town at 156 km. The nearest city of size is Anchorage, 1060 km away. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Stikine Region records list Chinook salmon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon and mountain whitefish among the fish reported. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Fish Ketchum Lake to its features, not to its size.
Expect July to average close to 10°C, with January the cold end at about -12°C. Winter shuts the surface down for months. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around mid May. Break-up sits around mid May on average, with the water closing again about early November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Anyone fishing Ketchum Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Our records carry no access rule either way. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. A landowner's word beats anything printed elsewhere. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Wrathall Lake sits 7.3 km off and takes the overflow. Treat access at Ketchum Lake as something to verify.
