No direct sun expected today, with a proper ripple driven from the NNE with the barometer flat. Whatever swims in Jimmac Lake should be near inflow corners and shaded margins. Expectations low today; if anything moves, it will be in the night. Lower the pace and stay patient. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

You will find Jimmac Lake in Cariboo Regional District, British Columbia. The land about it is rolling bush. The water covers some 20 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Roughly 1.8 km of bank means you can walk to a fresh area when one goes quiet. Quesnel lies 35 km from the water. After that come Prince George at 75 km and Williams Lake at 128 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish documented in Cariboo Regional District include sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon and bull trout. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Jimmac Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The warmest month averages 15°C, the coldest about -9°C. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Look for the thaw near mid April; the fishing lifts straight after. The season between ice runs from about mid April to mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. The season on Jimmac Lake rarely departs from it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Neck Lake is 2.2 km off. Nothing here settles the position at Jimmac Lake for certain.
