Wet weather working through today, with light air out of the NNW and the barometer holding steady. The productive water at Jameson Lake will be around structure within a cast of the bank. The strongest window runs from afternoon into evening. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Cold air keeps the water sluggish; scale everything down.

Set in Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, British Columbia, this is Jameson Lake. Rolling bush runs right down to the water. About 5 hectares of surface, which puts the far bank inside easy sight. For a base, Princeton sits 12 km out. Beyond it, Keremeos at 48 km and Cawston at 54 km. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen, recorded fish include sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, Coho salmon, common carp and Chinook salmon. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. At Jameson Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
The year swings from about -6°C in January to roughly 16°C in August. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Break-up comes around late March, and the run that follows is short and strong. Break-up sits around late March on average, with the water closing again about late November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Plan any trip to Jameson Lake around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Nothing built is recorded close to the bank here. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. Lorne Lake, 5.5 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Jameson Lake before loading the car.
