Stars out and no cloud tonight, with a decent SSW wind working the banks and pressure going nowhere. The fish at Fox Lake are likely to sit near points where shallow meets deep. A stay-home graph, with the morning as the one excuse to go. Quiet tactics only; the fish will not chase today.

Fox Lake is one of the Cariboo Regional District waters in British Columbia. Around the bank it is lake country bush. Around 19 hectares of surface means several distinct areas to work. The edge runs 3.7 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Williams Lake sits 24 km from the bank. Then Hanceville, 42 km, and 108 Mile Ranch, 83 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Across Cariboo Regional District, recorded fish include sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon and bull trout. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Fox Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
The year swings from about -10°C in January to roughly 15°C in July. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Firm cover through the cold months, then open water from mid April. The water is typically free of ice between mid April and late November. September and October fish steadily right up to the freeze. Anyone fishing Fox Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. No made access is recorded, so a short walk in is the likely arrangement. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Twin Lake, 1.7 km away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Fox Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
