Flurries coming and going today, with steady pressure of wind from the SW and the barometer holding steady. Falls Lake should fish best around sheltered bays and points today. Little to get excited about, though the evening holds a sliver of promise. One good spot fished well beats five fished quickly.

In British Columbia, Falls Lake falls inside Fraser Valley Regional District. Beyond the shoreline you have lake country bush. The water covers some 25 hectares, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. Around 2.3 km of margin, front to back. For supplies, Hope is 37 km out. Chilliwack is the closest city, 81 km away. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. County-wide records name white sturgeon, sockeye salmon and Coho salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Falls Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Climate normals give 14°C for August and -6°C for December. Winter shuts the surface down for months. Look for the thaw near mid April; the fishing lifts straight after. The water is typically free of ice between mid April and late November. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. Falls Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. A campsite is mapped about 500 m away, which makes an early start easier. Toilets are 510 m away, which matters on a long session. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Drum Lake, 9.9 km away, makes the obvious fallback.
