Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with barely a breath of wind with the barometer flat. Most of the action on Evelyn Lake should come off points where shallow meets deep. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Keep moving until you find them. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Evelyn Lake lies in Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, British Columbia. The surroundings are farm and woodlot. At about 59 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The full circuit measures close to 3.7 km on foot. It is low-lying compared with other British Columbia water we list. Some 53 km away sits Kitimat, the nearest settlement. Terrace follows at 104 km, then Prince Rupert at 121 km. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
We hold no depth figure for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Reported across Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine: pink salmon, Chum salmon, Coho salmon and sockeye salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. At Evelyn Lake the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Climate records put August near 14°C and January near -2°C. Spring and autumn are the strongest, but nothing is truly closed. Hard water here is never dependable, so check for yourself before stepping out. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. It holds true on Evelyn Lake more years than not.
No public source sets out the position on this bank. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No built facilities appear in mapping around this water. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Gates get locked out of season on water like this. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. If the gate is shut, Bardon Lake at 12 km is the nearest alternative. Signs at Evelyn Lake carry more weight than any list.
