Sunshine start to finish today, with a kind NE breeze on the water and steady pressure. Activity on Division Lake should centre on the calm side of the wind. The evening carries the best of the day. Change depth before you change anything else. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Morning
Division Lake sits within Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako in British Columbia. Elevation runs to 953 metres. Roughly 26 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. Around 2.4 km of margin, front to back. The town to know is Burns Lake, 15 km out. For a city, Kamloops is 548 km off. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako records list sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, Chinook salmon, pink salmon and Chum salmon among the fish reported. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. On Division Lake the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Temperature averages peak at 13°C in July and bottom out at -11°C in January. Hard water is a season in its own right here. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late April. From about late April to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. It sets the rhythm of the year at Division Lake.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A campsite is mapped about 420 m away, which makes an early start easier. Trout here take small spinners, spoons and, where fly water allows, a nymph or dry. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. The nearest alternative is McKeown Lake, 2.6 km out. Rules at Division Lake are worth checking on the day.
