Dull, settled light over the water, with the water lying quiet with a settled glass. The fish at Devil Lake are likely to sit near reed fringes and open pockets. One clear peak today: the evening. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Devil Lake lies within the bounds of Fraser Valley Regional District, British Columbia. It stands 64 metres above sea level. At 3 hectares it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Fraser Valley Regional District. For supplies, Hope is 2 km out. The nearest city of size is Chilliwack, 43 km away. No border sits close enough to matter.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Records held for Fraser Valley Regional District cover white sturgeon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, Chum salmon and Chinook salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Read Devil Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
Temperature averages peak at 18°C in August and bottom out at -1°C in January. The season stretches long at both ends here. It is not guaranteed from one year to the next. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. Devil Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. Landstrom Bar Provincial Park runs up to the bank here, which usually means extra restrictions. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Sort the permit out before you load the car. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Schkam Lake at 3.2 km is the sensible second choice. Nothing on Devil Lake should be assumed from this page alone.
