Sun coming and going behind the cloud today, with light air out of the NE and the barometer holding steady. Give the weed line and any gaps in it the first hour at Deer Lake. A long productive spell runs morning through afternoon. Make the first hour count and build on it. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The Fraser Valley Regional District entry here is Deer Lake, in British Columbia. Country round the bank runs to farm and woodlot. Surface area is around 52 hectares, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 3.2 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. The nearest town is Harrison Hot Springs, 11 km away. After that come Agassiz at 16 km and Hope at 17 km. This one is safely inside the county line.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Fraser Valley Regional District records list white sturgeon, sockeye salmon, Coho salmon, Chum salmon and Chinook salmon among the fish reported. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. Deer Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
The seasonal spread runs -1°C to 16°C. Mild ends to the year keep the season long. Cover comes and goes, so treat it with suspicion rather than trust. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. Deer Lake fishes to that pattern most years. Early and late in the day beat the middle for most of the year.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. A ramp is mapped within 600 m. There is a jetty 570 m off, worth knowing on a busy day. A campsite lies 630 m away for anyone staying over. A picnic spot sits 590 m from the bank. There are toilets 590 m off. Provincial rules still apply whatever the bank status. Moss Lake sits 2.3 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Deer Lake before loading the car.
