Scattered cloud taking the edge off the glare, with hardly a ripple anywhere and steady pressure. Fish at Lac Brosseau should hold close to reed fringes and open pockets. The day holds up well from afternoon into evening. Work the productive water thoroughly. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

The County of Two Hills No. 21 end of Alberta holds Lac Brosseau. The surface lies 579 metres up. At some 2.85 sq km it is far too large to cover on foot in a day. There is roughly 7.9 km of bank, more than one visit can cover properly. Two Hills is the closest place, 15 km off. St. Paul is 29 km and Vegreville 46 km. It sits near the edge of the county, so check which rules apply.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Across County of Two Hills No. 21, recorded fish include northern pike, shorthead redhorse, walleye, yellow perch and flathead chub. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Lac Brosseau repays a walk before the first cast.
Average temperature peaks around 16°C in July and bottoms out near -15°C in January. Little of the calendar is open water, so timing counts for everything. Once it clears, about late April, the fishing comes on quickly. The lid tends to go about late April and return around mid November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lac Brosseau that shapes the whole year.
Whether you may fish here is not something records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. A wire trace and a big bright lure handle the pike; deep water asks for a heavier spoon. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, Lac Sante is 6.6 km off. None of that is settled for Lac Brosseau in what we hold.
