Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with calm air over the water and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lac Bellevue should come off the shallows early and the drop later. A broad window opens from afternoon into evening. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows.

Lac Bellevue falls in County of St. Paul No. 19, part of Alberta. The surface lies 642 metres up. This is sizeable water at about 4.44 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. Shoreline length is close to 11 km, and each section fishes a little differently. The nearest place of any size is St. Paul, 19 km away. The nearest city of size is Edmonton, 144 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in County of St. Paul No. 19 include yellow perch, Iowa darter, northern pike and white sucker. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. At Lac Bellevue light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Typical July readings run about 16°C; by January the average is down near -16°C. The ice season is long here and the open one short. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late April. On the long-run averages the water opens up around late April and starts locking again about mid November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. The season on Lac Bellevue follows the weather closely.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. For a change of water, Myr Lake is 1.9 km distant. For Lac Bellevue, the notice at the access point is the final word.
