A day shaped by the wind, with a useful WNW wind pushing food about with the glass holding level. Most of the action on Glory Lake should come off sheltered bays and points. A stay-home graph, with the middle of the day as the one excuse to go. Downsize everything and pick the calmest water.

Set in Parkland County, Glory Lake is an Alberta water. Land around it is pine and birch. Roughly 17 hectares: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The edge runs 3.0 km or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Our Parkland County list holds plenty of bigger water. The nearest town is Stony Plain, 8 km away. Spruce Grove is 12 km and Westview Village 25 km. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Fish documented in Parkland County include northern pike, yellow perch, Iowa darter, rainbow trout and white sucker. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Glory Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
The warmest month averages 16°C, the coldest about -13°C. Cold locks it up for a good stretch each year. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Open water usually runs from late April until about mid November. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Plan around that when you fish Glory Lake.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. The map shows no ramp or car park nearby, so this is a walk-in water. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. For a change of water, Gerharts Lake is 0.9 km distant. Check the position at Glory Lake before loading the car.
