A crisp, open sky after dark, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SSW and the barometer holding steady. The fish at Angle Lake are likely to sit near the shallows early and the drop later. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop.

Angle Lake is one of the County of Two Hills No. 21 waters in Alberta. The surroundings are boreal forest. This is sizeable water at about 1.13 sq km, and a boat opens up most of it. Around 8.6 km of bank, which is a long day on foot. The nearest town is Elk Point, 18 km away. The big place round here is Edmonton, 166 km distant. A county boundary sits nearby, which can matter for local access rules.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Public occurrence data for County of Two Hills No. 21 names northern pike, shorthead redhorse, walleye and yellow perch. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. Angle Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July near 17°C and January near -17°C on the long-run figures. Winter runs most of the calendar, and everything worth doing happens in the gap. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. From about late April to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan any trip to Angle Lake around it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Public mapping marks it as seasonal water rather than permanent. For the pike, wire up and throw larger lures along the weed edges. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Gedeon Lake sits 7 km off and takes the overflow. None of that is settled for Angle Lake in what we hold.
