A wide-open sky and strong sun today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the SE with a settled glass. Give sheltered bays and points the first hour at Adrian Lake. A broad window opens from afternoon into evening. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Look for Adrian Lake in the Hay Lakes part of Alberta. The ground round it is pine and birch. At about 60 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. With about 4.3 km of edge, you can try several depths in one session. For supplies, Millet is 22 km out. After that come Wetaskiwin at 22 km and Camrose at 23 km. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Anyone new to Adrian Lake should walk it once before setting up. Shade is structure on a bright day.
Expect July near 16°C and January near -14°C on the long-run figures. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. After late April the shallows warm and the fish move up. Climate averages put the opening at about late April and the closing near mid November. Early summer and early autumn carry the open-water season. Adrian Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. It is recorded as intermittent, which means the basin empties in dry spells. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Labyrinth Lake at 3.2 km is the nearest alternative. The position on Adrian Lake is worth confirming on the day.
