Bright moon and an empty sky tonight, with barely a breath of wind and pressure going nowhere. Whatever swims in Lake Weeroona should be near points where shallow meets deep. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Fish are pushing shallow as the water warms.

Lake Weeroona is a Greater Bendigo water, Victoria side. Around the bank it is oak and grass. This is a pocket water of some 7 hectares, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. For a base, North Bendigo sits 0.4 km out. Bendigo city centre is 1.6 km and Bendigo 1.7 km. No regional boundary comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Species logged nearby in open biodiversity records include common carp, tench, goldfish, perch and rainbow trout. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Take Lake Weeroona a stretch at a time.
Expect February to average close to 21°C, with July the cold end at about 8°C. Winter is a mild inconvenience here, nothing more. Spring runs September to November and autumn March to May, and both fish well. June through August is cool but far from dead. Lake Weeroona fishes to that pattern most years.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. Records show no boating, which makes this a bank-only water. Parking within 130 m means no long carry with tackle. A toilet block sits 170 m away. Wanyarra Dum runs up to the bank here, which usually means extra restrictions. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lake Neangar sits 4.8 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Lake Weeroona before loading the car.
