An even grey lid over the water, with a working ENE breeze and the barometer holding steady. Most of the action on Lake Warramboo should come off the shallows early and the drop later. A long productive spell runs the day. Make the first hour count and build on it. Spring rewards the bank that catches the sun.

Lake Warramboo is one of the Wudinna listings for South Australia. It sits at 63 metres above sea level. It measures about 69 hectares, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. You are 98 km from Cleve. After that come Cowell at 131 km and Tumby Bay at 138 km. What else is close: Agars Lake sits 41 km out, Lake Yaninee 43 km away, Hidden Lake sits 51 km out and Pinkawillinie Reservoir 53 km away. No boundary runs near, so the local rules hold throughout.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Lake Warramboo gives up its fish to patience rather than distance. Watch for fry activity and fish under it.
Expect February near 24°C and July near 11°C on the long-run figures. Winter is simply the pleasant end of an unbroken season. The shoulder seasons either side of summer are the ones to aim for. Spring, September into November, fishes hardest, with autumn a close second. Lake Warramboo runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Records show it does not hold water year-round. We find no slipway, car park or made path within a short radius, so treat access as rough. Bank access can be seasonal on ground like this. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Agars Lake sits 41 km off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Lake Warramboo before loading the car.
