A grey, even sky over the water, with a useful SSW wind pushing food about and pressure going nowhere. Fish at Yarradda Lagoon should hold close to banks where bait gets pushed by the flow. The best of it runs the day. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. The spring warm-up puts fish on the sunny banks.

Yarradda Lagoon lies in Carrathool, in New South Wales. The land about it is dry hill. At about 85 hectares, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. You are 17 km from Darlington Point. Further out sit Coleambally (26 km) and Hanwood (35 km). If this one is busy: Wowong Lagoon 5.2 km away, Benerembah Lagoon at 11 km, Cookoothamba Lagoon 12 km away, Gum Creek at 17 km and Narrancoolambung Lagoon 17 km away. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include common carp, goldfish and Australian river gizzard shad. The list reflects reported sightings and surveys rather than what is stocked. Yarradda Lagoon fishes better once you know its edges.
Between July at about 9°C and February at about 25°C, the water has a wide range to work through. The surface stays open the year round. Spring, September into November, and autumn, March into May, are the strong stretches. The wet months move levels about, which shifts the fishing with them. At Yarradda Lagoon the season follows that pattern closely.
We have no record of the rules that apply on this bank. It is recorded as an oxbow, which means still water with a river's shape. Access points are not mapped for this water, which suits people who like quiet. Carp respond to sweetcorn or boilies fished patiently on the bottom near feeding areas. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Wowong Lagoon, 5.2 km away, makes the obvious fallback. None of that is settled for Yarradda Lagoon in what we hold.
