A wide-open sky and strong sun today, with next to no ripple with the glass slipping lower. Dugway Lake should fish best around the first drop-off and weed lines today. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Keep moving until you find them. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Dugway Lake belongs to Sublette County, Wyoming. Height above sea level is 8,711 feet. The water measures roughly 6 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. On size it sits at the modest end of our Sublette County list. Supplies mean a trip to Pinedale, 17 miles off. Fort Washakie follows at 34 miles, then Marbleton at 37 miles. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Fish documented in Sublette County include brook trout, rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout and white sucker. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. On Dugway Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Between January at about 15°F and July at about 54°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Ice is part of the season here, ending near mid May. Open water usually runs from mid May until about early November. The middle of summer slows a little, with dawn and dusk carrying it. Anyone fishing Dugway Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Lake Ethel, 0.4 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Dugway Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
