Solid cloud cover today, with a steady SW wind and pressure ticking upward. Activity on Tahoe Lake should centre on inflow corners and shaded margins. The strongest window runs from morning through afternoon. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Racine County in Wisconsin is where Tahoe Lake sits. Everything around it is mixed forest. It covers about 7 acres, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. Our Racine County list holds plenty of bigger water. Nearest place of any size is Burlington, 2.9 miles away. For a city, Milwaukee is 30 miles off. Being near a boundary, it pays to know which side you are fishing.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name common carp, brown trout, largemouth bass, bluegill and northern pike. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. At Tahoe Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.
Expect July to average close to 72°F, with January the cold end at about 18°F. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Look for the thaw near late March; the fishing lifts straight after. In an average year the thaw lands around late March and the freeze near mid December. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Tahoe Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
The paperwork position is blank for this one. Honey Creek Wildlife Area - Walworth Unit covers ground next to the water; its rules will apply on that side. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. The nearest alternative is Delmonte Lake, 0.2 miles out. Check the position on Tahoe Lake before loading the car.
